RECTANGLE
Area = L x W
= 4 cm x 8 cm
= 24 cm

TRIANGLE
Area = L x W / 2

= 4 cm x 8 cm / 2
= 24 / 2
= 12

The size of the triangle is half the size of the rectangle. If you divide the size of the rectangle by 2, it will be the size of the triangle, and if you multiply the size of the triangle by 2, you'll get the size of the rectangle.
