  • 4)a) 3/4 + 2/3

the GCF of 4 and 3 is 12.

    3/4 = 3x3=9 4x3=12
    2/3 = 2x4=8 3x4=12

    9/12 + 8/12 = 17/12

    the answer is 17/12 OR 1 5/12

    b) 3 3/4 - 1 1/4 = 2 2/4 OR 2 1/2 or 3/2
